Bustards usually depend on running to escape their enemies. However they can fly strongly, looking like geese, from which they can be distinguished by their long legs trailing behind the tail, and the rear of the body sagging low. They have patches of white on the wings which show much more strongly in flight than on the ground, as shown in this photo and the next one.
